An exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them with attention to alignment, mindfulness, and breath. You will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility and stability. Appropriate for all students.
Flow moves through a rigorous series of postures linking together motion and breath. This class includes challenging back-bends, inversions, standing and seated postures. For the experienced practitioner.
A slower-paced flow class offering more detailed instructions and modifications than in the flow class. Great for both the seasoned practitioner and those with some yoga experience.
Yin Yoga focuses on working deeper tissues - ligaments, joints, deep fascial tissues, and bones. Poses are similar to other styles of yoga but the approach is different. Yin is unique because we relax the muscles and use gravity to come to our edge. We resolve to be still and hold for an extended amount of time. Yin practice provides stillness, simplicity, self-examination, and being in the present moment. Improvements in flexibility, mindful awareness, and stress level are common. With a continued practice, physiological, mental and emotional, and energetic benefits can be discovered. Yin Yoga is not to meant to replace other forms of yoga; it is designed to balance the heat building side of yoga and other forms of exercise. Appropriate for all students.
Yoga for Graceful Aging
Appropriate for all ages and students, this class focuses on bringing our entire being into greater harmony by cultivating individual awareness of our imbalances, habits and patterns of mind and body and gently realigning. Themes are frequently overall balance, bone density, mind-body awareness, and strengthening of the nervous system.
Restorative yoga offers a sequence of supported postures that nurture your body, mind, and heart. The practice relieves deep set tension and soothes the grip of stress. Your body is held in well supported and comfortable props and your mind is held in compassionate and calm awareness. Restorative yoga is good for those with a strong yoga practice, those who work hard, and anyone with stress, so that means all of us!!!! Join us for a unique self practice for day to day healing. Community Sitting Practice
Sitting practice is like returning home to give full attention to and care for our self. We make the commitment towards deepening our own awareness that ultimately effects all things. In community, we sit together and realize we can be with whatever is within all of us-our pain, anger, and irritation, or our joy, love, and peace. We are together with whatever is there without being carried away by it. Opening us to our inherent wisdom and cultivating a deep universal compassion and profound connection, this practice indeed bears precious rewards in us as individuals and a community.
An energetic practice of breath inspired movement set to driving beats, followed by brief meditation. Designed to strengthen and lengthen the body through dynamic movement and focus the mind via concentration practices, this class will leave you feeling strong, clear and powerful.
The Yoga of Awareness. Come and experience the technology of Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan. We will introduce you to kriyas and pranayama exercises which will detoxify the body and purify the Self. Each class will have a warm-up period with classic Kundalini postures followed by a kriya, relaxation, and meditation to remove blocks and awaken your creativity. We will practice targeted rhythmic movements, breathing techniques, and mantra meditations to awaken your spiritual energy and encourage the movement upward.
In this 6 week series, students will sit together in meditation for 20 minutes followed by a discussion of the assigned reading from the current book. Open to all students who are dedicated to taking time to discover themselves through both meditation and in sharing their own experiences that relate to the material provided through the readings.
